Angel Food Ministries  The Rev. Deacon Terri Degenhardt is finalizing the details of bringing this opportunity to us. The ministry will operate from Wimberly House and will serve anyone interested in quality food at a reduced price. The ministry includes a Signature Box which includes enough nutritional food to feed a family of four for a week. But the program also has an allergen-free food box, fully cooked prepackaged meals for senior citizens and diabetics, and an after-school box which includes an assortment of child-friendly snacks– great for after school or any time. The menu varies monthly. We hope to begin the program as soon as the end of July. More information is forthcoming!

The Deacon’s Place It is the tradition of the Episcopal Church that  deacons serve the Bishop and the Bishop assigns deacons to particular churches. With the coming of the Rev. Dr. Jim Shumard, it is common practice that the Rev. Deacon Terri  Degenhardt, assigned to St. Michael’s would leave for a period of time, so that the new priest may begin to establish relationships with the people. Terri is waiting for direction from the Bishop.

Some exciting news…. The Vestry and Wardens of St. Michaels have called The Reverend Doctor James B. Shumard to be our next Rector.  The “official” agreement was signed just yesterday.  Fr. Jim will begin on August 2nd, with his first Sunday being August 8th.  A “HAPPY HOUR MEET AND GREET” will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, 5:30-7:00 here at the church so we can begin our shared ministry.  August 1st will be Kit’s last Sunday and with more details forthcoming.

4th of July

In honor of the Fourth of July, we will have a covered dish luncheon after church. Please being a dish and plan on staying around to continue the celebration.

UTO The next United Thanks Offering (UTO) Ingathering will be October 31st. The blue boxes are available in the narthex of the church. Begin saving your change for a worthy cause.

New Directory We are working on compiling information for a new directory. The black notebook will be made available to you in the parish hall. Please take a few minutes to provide your information, even if things have not changed. We need to hear from everyone, so a thoroughly updated directory can be given to Fr. Jim on his arrival on August 2nd.
